ENR California is pleased to announce the selection of Boston Properties as its Owner of the Year for 2016. Each year, the magazine selects one owner or developer with active construction projects for the honor. With so much work going on throughout the state, there's no shortage of innovative developers and owners to choose from.

Boston Properties’ San Francisco office manages properties with nearly 6 million square feet at about 94% occupancy. In 2014, the developer acquired a majority stake in the development of the 61-story Salesforce Tower, which will become the second tallest building west of Chicago in the U.S. The $1-billion project is scheduled for completion in 2018.

In addition to ushering innovative office projects to market, the developer demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability. Its recently completed 28-story 535 Mission, also in San Francisco, became the first large office tower to receive LEED Platinum certification in the city. The firm’s 680 Folsom renovation project also received LEED Platinum, and Salesforce Tower is pre-certified Platinum.
