I am pleased to announce the winners of ENR’s 2nd annual Global Best Projects competition. The contest joins ENR’s successful regional and national U.S. competitions in identifying and honoring the project teams behind outstanding design and construction efforts of the past year.

A panel of industry veterans with extensive global experience (some who worked on winning projects last year) completed the judging today, and the projects they have selected are exciting examples of the challenges, risks and rewards of designing and constructing throughout the world.

The judges looked at projects from every corner of the globe in a variety of categories, from education to bridges. They evaluated each project on safety performance, innovation, contribution to the community, design/construction excellence and how well the project team overcame challenges and worked as a team. Judges generally rated projects with more globally diverse project teams higher than equivalent projects. The panel picked a ‘Global Best Project’ per category, and had the option of selecting an ‘Award of Merit’ in each as well.

From the winners you see below, the judges will select one of the main category winners as the Global Project of the Year. To win Project of the Year and be held up as the year's ultimate achievement in global construction excellence, the winning entry must excel in all criteria.

Come celebrate all of the awarded projects, and find out which one will be selected as Global Project of the Year, during the ENR+Dodge Global Construction Summit, May 13-14 in New York City. The Global Best Projects awards dinner will be held the evening of May 13th. Hope to see you there!
