State transportation agencies take stock of damage and prepare to award contracts to repair and rebuild highways and bridges hard hit by Hurricane Helene.

State transportation agencies in North Carolina and Tennessee are still assessing damage from the storm, forecasting a months-long effort to repair hard-hit critical arteries such as Interstate-40. 

Considerable damage is seen in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina after the Category 4 hurricane swept up from the Gulf of Mexico, as communities take stock and emergency workers assess dams, bridges and other critical infrastructure.

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador declared more than 200 sq miles including the facility to be a protected natural area.

When completed, the three-train terminal would be one of the largest in the U.S., with a capacity of about 16.5 million tons per year, according to developer Energy Transfer.

Louisiana’s Coastal Protection Restoration Authority is moving forward with more than 100 active coastal restoration projects, nearly 40 currently under construction.

Since the early 2022 start of the 640-ft-high tower project, contractor Harvey l Harvey Cleary has made the most of its hemmed-in parcel’s limited space.

The contractor, which reported $2.7 billion in Texas-Louisiana regional revenue for 2023, is building relationships with clients, making key acquisitions and sticking to the work it excels at to improve its bottom line.

Collectively, ranked firms reported a 2023 revenue gain of 25%, and they are also optimistic about opportunities in 2025.
