Besides being narrow and unsafe, the existing bridge was only designed to carry 10,000 vehicles per day; but it has carried 80,000 daily, including heavy tractor-trailer traffic. Rick Whitney has been appointed CEO of Adolfson & Peterson Inc. (A&P), effective Oct. 1. He succeeds interim CEO Steven Pinney, who held the position since CEO Doug Jaeger stepped down in December.
