California officials say the fire-damaged section of Interstate 10 in LA will not need to be rebuilt and could be open to traffic in about a month.

As structural analysis continues on I-10 near downtown L.A., shoring has been put in place to stabilize the damaged section of roadway. 

The Earthquake Ready Burnside Bridge project in Portland would replace a busy river crossing completed nearly 100 years ago.

The project is planned to include design and construction of a 2,625-ft-long, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel to replace the aging four-lane George Massey Tunnel.

If approved by Congress, added funds for upgrade would prevent and reduce sewage flows and contamination in southern California.

Public outreach has begun related to the San Diego to San Luis Obispo project along a portion of the nation’s second-busiest passenger rail corridor.

The Dept. of Justice alleged violations of the Fair Housing Act regarding accessibility requirements. 

While improvements to the South Bay International Wastewater Treatment Plant in San Diego have begun, local officials stress more money will be needed to stop the raw sewage overflow problem in the cross-border area.

The 1.4-million-sq-ft project still needs environmental approvals.
