As the principal photographer and documentarian for the Florida Dept. of Transportation’s $866-million Miami Signature Bridge project, Nicole Bryant has likely snapped thousands of photos of the unique project that construction team members have described to ENR as “the most complex design-build segmental bridge in the world.”
Bryant often uses drones to capture the complex structure’s still-emerging curves.
Here, she focused on the ongoing superstructure and deck construction taking place, along with the arch construction of the cable-stay bridge.
“The photo is interesting because of the scale of the project and [the size of] the bridge deck in comparison to the equipment and personnel,” Bryant says, noting how the image illustrates the project’s complexity and sequencing with “even the superstructure construction being visible.”
