ALABAMA

The Alabama Dept. of Corrections is evaluating submitted bids from contractors seeking to build a men’s correctional facility at a site yet to be determined in Elmore County. Designed to house at least 4,000 inmates, it will offer enhanced medical and mental health treatment as well as substance abuse and addiction treatment. FLORIDA

Southeast Development Group is planning to develop Jacksonville Riverfront, a mixed-use project, on 25 acres formerly occupied by the county courthouse, city hall annex and Jacksonville Landing. It will measure 2.3 million sq ft and include residential towers, a 208-room hotel, a 500,000-sq-ft city-owned exhibition hall and 50,000 sq ft of retail space. There will be underground parking garages with 3,000 spaces. Phase 2 entails construction of The Bend, a public park. Gensler is the design architect, and Nelson Worldwide is the architect of record. GEORGIA

The City of Atlanta Dept. of Aviation is planning to construct a Hilton Hotel at Hartsfield-Atlanta Jackson International Airport in College Park. The developer is Majestic Carter, a team of Majestic Realty Co. and Carter Real Estate. The 14-story, 541-room hotel will include 80,000 sq ft of meeting and conference space, office space and 1,200 parking spaces. GEORGIA

Northeast Georgia Medical Center is planning to build a patient tower on its campus in Gainesville. The 11-story, 660,000-sq-ft building will contain 150 patient beds, an emergency room, a parking deck and a helipad. It is being designed by Perkins & Will Architects, and Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor. The project is valued at $700 million. TENNESSEE

Southwest Value Partners and Anschutz Entertainment Group are planning to build the AEG Nashville Yards Entertainment Development on an 18-acre site. The development’s centerpiece will be a 4,000-seat live-music venue and eight-screen cinema. There will also be a 465,153-sq-ft mixed-use office building, 34- and 35-story residential towers and below-grade parking. The project is being designed by Gresham Smith & Partners, and Bell & Associates Construction is the general contractor. The project is valued at $255 million. TENNESSEE

YMCA of Middle Tennessee plans to develop a 60-story residential tower on a lot at 1000 Church St. in Nashville. Currently, the site houses two buildings. The older 1973 portion of the YMCA building will be redeveloped and adjoined to the newer building. Giarratana Development will purchase a section of the property to build the tower. Goettsch Partners has been chosen as the architect, and AECOM Hunt is the general contractor. The project is valued at $350 million.
