Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has released a request for proposal for design-build structural rehabilitation services on 21 bridges and aerial structures throughout its system. Bids are due for the up to $65-million contract at 2 p.m. on April 21. Major work items consist of pier cap retrofit, expansion joint replacement, anchor bolt replacement, concrete repair, protective coating of concrete and steel, safety walk and handrail replacement, bearing replacement, weld repair and fencing replacement. Capstone Development LLC and Quadrangle Development Corp. have proposed an up to $50-million mixed-use project at 1840 7th St. NW. The project is targeted to start construction on May 1. It includes one eight-story reinforced concrete building with one story below ground. The project totals 160,000 sq ft, including 21,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail. It also includes 204 residential units. The permit process was underway at press time. Marshall Moya Design and Cooper Carry & Associates Inc. are the architects.

Maryland

 The NRP Group is planning a mixed-use project at 8040 13th St. in Silver Spring. The up to $50-million design-bid-build project includes a 13-story reinforced concrete building totaling 275,000 sq ft. The project would have 326 market-rate and 47 affordable units and a pool terrace above 9,500 sq ft of retail space. The project was pending approvals at press time. The schedule is to be determined. The Paramount and Caves Valley Partners are building the up to $50-million Paramount Baltimore Casino and Entertainment Venue in Baltimore. Clearing and demolition have been completed for the design-build project. But it remains under review by the owner and the city. Advancement is pending funding and approvals. The project would include one three-story structural steel building totaling 80,000 sq ft. It would also include a 3,750-seat music and entertainment building. The design team includes Design Collective Architects Inc., Design 3 International and BCT Design Group. Pennsylvania 

The Whitehall-Coplay School District is accepting bids for an elementary school located in Whitehall. Bids are due for the up to $30.5-million design-bid-build project at 2 p.m. on March 1. VIRGINIA 

Sentinel Data Centers is constructing the third phase of its data center in Sterling. The $295-million design-bid-build project includes one building—one story above grade and no stories below grade—totaling 492,000 sq ft. Herring & Trowbridge Architects is the designer.
