The project team on the AmerisourceBergen Regional headquarters was tasked with creating a four-story, ranch-style building connecting the indoors with the outdoors.
The 300,000-sq-ft building sits on a bluff with striking views of the surrounding rolling hills. The tilt-up construction method of pouring and erecting concrete panels on a bluff presented the challenge of finding enough area for four stories of concrete to be laid down, poured and tilted into place. The team solved this problem with specialized panel layouts and by using the first-floor slab area to pour slabs.
The contractor undertook a difficult installation process to complete the building’s interior focal point—a grand, four-story staircase made of precast concrete.
