This $37-million renovation was conducted in El Paso, Texas, on a zero-lot line. Sundt had to shut down one lane on two different streets. Crane operations and underground utility work required additional street closures. The team created an MOU agreement with El Paso Electric in order to install a material hoist on adjacent property to prevent permanent street closures and limit destructive demolition to a historic facade. The construction team coordinated with the electric utility and local first responders for evacuation and emergency response plans. With nearly 263,000 hours worked at completion, the project had no recordable incidents and no lost-time accidents.
