Maine

The Dept. of Veterans Affairs is planning the Community Living Center at the VA Healthcare System in Augusta. The up to $10 million design-bid-build project includes two new primary structures that total a combined 16,812 sq ft. Construction includes associated support structures and site improvements, utility work, general construction, alterations, roads, walks, grading, drainage, necessary removal of existing structures and construction of certain other items. New Hampshire

The town of Londonderry has proposed a kindergarten and elementary school space addition at an existing school located at 64 Kitty Hawk Landing in Londonderry. New Jersey

The New Jersey Transit Procurement Dept. is designing the $600-million NJ Transit Microgrid Distribution System. The project includes a natural gas-fired power plant in Kearny, transmission and distribution lines to substations that electrify train tracks and connections to regional transmission organization PJM’s commercial grid. River Development Equities is designing the $500-million East Brunswick Town Center in East Brunswick. The project will include medical office, retail, entertainment and hospitality space, between 800 and 1,200 residential units, a hotel/technology center, a dog park, pedestrian trails and a transportation hub. New York

The NY Power Authority is designing the Niagara Power Project Modernization of the Robert Moses Plant in Lewiston. The $1-billion design-build project will also include refurbishing the 630-ton crane that enables mechanical work, building a new back-up control room, digitizing the control systems and inspecting and refurbishing 13 penstocks. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is designing a $600-million renovation. The 180,000-sq-ft project includes expansion of the Southwest Wing for modern and contemporary art. This will increase gallery space for collections, double the size of the roof garden, create accessible onsite storage and enhance gallery configurations and visitor navigation. Rhode Island

L A Torrado Architects is designing the Providence Station Improvements at 100 Gaspee St. in Providence for Amtrak and the State of Rhode Island Dept. of Transportation. The $25-million project, which is expected to begin in May, includes major roof repairs, enclosing the patio area near the exterior clock tower, upgrading bathrooms, improving pedestrian access from the Providence Place mall and providing a more accessible location for Amtrak police.
