Downtown Tucson redevelopment spearheaded by Rio Nuevo, the state’s only tax-increment finance district, is thriving with no signs of slowing down, Marquez says. Vibrancy in the city center led to the addition of a hotel at the Tucson Convention Center, and activity in the downtown area will help spur vertical residential development over the next decade.

“A lot of the land has been purchased, but many national players see Tucson as a bit more affordable than Phoenix and Seattle,” Marquez says.
