The new Student Wellness Center at the University of Colorado Denver was brought to life by a student campaign to build a full-service recreation and wellness center on campus. Students selected all of the amenities and paid for them through student fees. Those amenities include a six-lane lap pool and spa, three full-size courts with a full glass wall overlooking downtown Denver, weight training and fitness areas, climbing and bouldering walls, group fitness studios, study areas and nooks for relaxation, a student kitchen and an outdoor adventure services shop with gear rental and bicycle maintenance services.

The project offered a learning experience for current programs at CU Denver. Project team members conducted frequent jobsite tours for engineering classes, and students gained information to apply in their classroom case studies.
