This four-season community plaza is a cornerstone in the revitalization of historic downtown Caldwell, helping to turn a struggling commercial district into a thriving, family-friendly destination. The plaza includes a Woonerf Festival Street, a large performance stage, an ice skating rink and an interactive fountain and splash pad.

The plaza was fully excavated up to the footings of the existing neighboring historic buildings. Careful coordination was required to install the extensive underground piping and plumbing systems, which support the ice ribbon slab and summertime operation of the fountains. More than 160 points of elevations were used to ensure proper drainage to the center of this giant hardscaped plaza and maintain ADA-slope requirements. The new plaza has welcomed more than 330,000 visitors in its first year of operation.
