A fast-paced schedule and considerable financial requirements challenged the project team on this $45.1-million expansion.
Pearland’s exponential growth and aging infrastructure had limited the city’s capacity for wastewater treatment, necessitating the expansion of the water reclamation facility.
Despite aggressive milestones to get the new facility online quickly, the project team was able to deliver each portion of the project ahead of schedule through careful coordination with stakeholders.
An innovation for an alternate foundation method for the project’s new structures saved $400,000 and trimmed six months from the schedule. This innovation was important to the project’s financial situation, which limited change orders to 1% of the overall project.
