“The construction business in New Orleans is strong—there is a lot to be excited about,” Flower says. “As the city works to promote our positive business climate and culture, we hope to continue to attract businesses like tech and industry to the benefits of locating to New Orleans.”

Dixie Beer is returning to New Orleans after being gone since Hurricane Katrina. Woodward is designing and building the brewery’s home in New Orleans East, and the first phase will be complete this fall.

Other major local projects include the redevelopment of the World Trade Center into the Four Seasons Hotel and Residences. That project is nearly 50% complete and has kicked off redevelopment in the area, Flower says. Preconstruction has started on renovations to the Canal Street Ferry Terminal, and the first phase on a multi-year renovation of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome has been released as well, Flower adds.

Woodward is currently teamed with Gensler to complete a programmatic study for New Orleans City Hall, which will result in recommendations to either relocate or renovate, Flower says.
