The Miami-Fort Lauderdale area’s history of extreme construction cycles may be ending. “Miami continues to be a strong market,” says Meltzer, adding that “hospitality and multifamily have continued at a steady pace. Office has gained momentum and condominiums are actually coming back, now that supply has been significantly absorbed.” Overall, he says, “As Miami has continued to mature, we are seeing less extremes to both the up and the down cycles and the time between cycles is shortening as well.”
