Rock Loft is a landmark structure, part of which was constructed in 1944. Although the building is not on the historic registry, care was taken during the remodel to preserve its longtime charm. During demolition, portions of the building were dismantled and labeled so they could be put back in the same place as before. Various materials were selected and carefully installed to match historic elements of the building. Several structural elements were preserved or reinforced to allow Rock Loft to serve as a safe space for occupants for years to come. Crews overcame the safety challenges that go with working in a historic structure and dealing with asbestos, mold and rot throughout the building to preserve its legacy while incorporating modern construction technology.
