Southeast City Scoop: Savannah Construction Starts

All three major construction categories should see contracting gains this year

The current period is an “amazing time for new development in Savannah and the largest construction market the city has seen since its founding,” Price says. Civic projects are prominent, he adds, with the city of Savannah poised to start on a $140-million arena and the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center doubling in size with a $167-million addition. Also, Atlanta firms Regent Partners and Mariner Group are developing a mixed-use development that includes residential, hospitality and office buildings.
