Overall construction activity expected to surge by more than 82% this year

Las Cruces’ new strategic business plan is encouraging growth, which is reflected in more residential and commercial projects, Nichols says.

“This year, we’re on track to add 550 new homes,” he says, adding that for May, permitting valuations totaled roughly $25 million. Nichols also says Mountain View Hospital is being expanded, and there are plans for a 53-acre, mixed-use development and 24-bed hospital next to the site of the former Las Cruces Country Club.
