Chris Young has joined Alan Plummer Associates Inc., Dallas, as president and CEO. Young has 23 years of experience in engineering planning, design and construction management.


Wayne SwaffordWayne Swafford is the new president of Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. (LAN), Houston. Swafford joined LAN last April as the firm’s executive vice president. Dennis Petersen, who served as the firm’s president for 20 years, will continue to serve as the president of LEO A DALY, LAN’s parent company. Previously, Swafford was vice president of facility operations at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan Inc.


Brad Knolle has been promoted to executive vice president of development for Embrey Partners, San Antonio. Knolle joined Embrey in 2012 as a senior vice president.


Beth McCrackenEmbree Construction Group Inc., Georgetown, Texas, has promoted two employees. Beth McCracken has been promoted to vice president of program management/minor works. She joined Embree in January 2009. Anthony Bollinger has been promoted to vice president of preconstruction services. He joined Embree Group in 2006 as head estimator.


Rich KnappTorcSill Foundations LLC, Pasadena, Texas, has appointed Rich Knapp to vice president of operations. He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Pasadena. Before joining TorcSill, Knapp served in a variety of operational leadership roles.



ISC Constructors LLC, Baton Rouge, has made two new hires. Kyle Zeringue will lead ISC’s business development, marketing and communication strategies as vice president of business development. Keith Gautreau joins ISC with more than 30 years of experience in industrial construction operations, most recently serving as president of an electrical and instrumentation firm.

Phillip GibsonPhillip Gibson has rejoined Neel-Schaffer Inc., Jackson, Miss., to manage the firm’s Central Mississippi water and wastewater department. Gibson has more than 26 years of experience, including 15 years working for Neel-Schaffer from 1992 through 2007. He founded Gibson Engineering Inc. in 2011.

Robert Lesnau has joined Stantec’s Plano, Texas, office as a mechanical team leader in the firm’s Texas buildings group.  John Keane, a principal in Stantec’s Westlake Park Boulevard office in Houston, has been named sector leader for the firm’s regional water practice. Mary Portillo, a senior principal in Stantec’s San Pedro Avenue office in San Antonio, has been named managing leader for the firm’s South Central water group. Erin Joseph Machac, a principal architect in Stantec’s East Greenway Plaza office in Houston, has been named higher education market leader for the firm’s South Central buildings group.


Ronda H. WangRonda H. Wang has joined HDR, Houston, as managing principal. Wang previously was a senior project manager at FKP|CannonDesign.

 

 

 

PBK Architects has announced a series of promotions. Alan Stilts was elevated to principal in the firm’s Woodlands, Texas, office. Three individuals have been promoted to associate principal at PBK’s Houston office: Jorge Tiscareno, Lorin Pargoud and Brandon Ross


Sean HolderSalas O’Brien has promoted three individuals in the firm’s Houston office to principal. Sean Holder began with Salas O’Brien in 2003 and has led the Houston mechanical department since 2011. Ken Noack is a 30-year industry veteran who has been with the firm for three years. Alan Penn has been with Salas O’Brien for 24 years and worked as director of construction services in Houston for most of that time.


Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing has made a series of new hires and promotions. Tommy Hernandez has joined the firm’s Houston office as executive director of human resources. Zach Keesee has joined the Dallas office as maintenance and leak repair project coordinator. Steve Duke has joined the Houston office as waterproofing project manager, and April Totten has joined the Austin office as an administrative assistant. Meanwhile, James Clements was promoted to senior estimator in the Houston office. Bradley Rowan was promoted to quality and training coordinator in the Houston office, and Stephen Cole was promoted to roofing project manager in the Dallas office.


Charles Gaddy has joined Freese and Nichols Inc. as a senior environmental project manager in the Fort Worth office. Michael Carter has joined the firm’s Fort Worth office as senior asset management project manager.

Garry Haferbier has been promoted to national sales manager at Allen Engineering Corp., Paragould, Ark.


Craig Parker was sworn in as 2018 chairman of the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) during the association’s 63rd Annual Meeting in February. As chairman, Parker is responsible for guiding NAPA’s efforts to support the asphalt pavement industry. He also is executive vice president of Silver Star Construction, based in Moore, Okla.


Barton B. Wallace Jr., president and CEO of Blum Consulting Engineers and a 43-year company veteran, died Jan 11, in Dallas, at age 92 of respiratory failure. A graduate of the Texas A&M School of Mechanical Engineering, he also was a former president of the Dallas chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers.
