Southeast City Scoop: Construction Starts in Charlotte
Assistant Marketing Director
Charlotte-area construction “doesn’t show any signs of slowing,” says Asher, president-elect for SMPS Charlotte. “Across the region, everyone is working at capacity with a healthy backlog looking into 2019.” Infrastructure investments will pay future dividends, Asher says. “As the connectivity increases with the Blue Line [light rail] extension and other planned infrastructure improvements, development opportunities are just going to broaden,” she says. Currently, education, hospitality and retail markets are among the most active, she adds.
