Fortis Construction has begun work on the first phase in Facebook’s Las Lunas Data Center. The first phase will include a $250-million, 510,000-sq-ft, single-story, structural steel facility powered by renewable energy that is expected to be completed in 2018. Gilbert Co. has begun work on the Ann Road Channel from Commerce Street to Upper Las Vegas Wash. The Washoe County Regional Transportation Commission is currently reviewing general contractor bids for Fourth Street and Prater Way bus rapid transit improvements in Reno. Work on the $25-million to $35-million project will include utility excavation, demolition, earthwork, subgrade preparation, aggregate base, roadbed modification, asphalt, concrete, curb and gutter, sidewalk, striping, traffic control, transit stations, water system upgrades and other related items. ProLogis is currently reviewing design-build bids for three new buildings in the Las Vegas Corporate Center in North Las Vegas. The owner required bidders to carry errors and omissions insurance and include a non-proprietary fire alarm system. Clark County is currently reviewing bids for roadway, utility and storm drain improvements on Las Vegas Boulevard between St. Rose Parkway and Silverado Ranch Boulevard. The approximately $30-million project will include plant-mix bituminous pavement, drainage swales next to the roadway, permanent striping, permanent signing and traffic signal undergrounds for future signals.
