Mid-City Financial Corp. is planning the $100-million Brookland Manor residential complex on the south side of Rhode Island Avenue NE, east of Brentwood Road and west of Montana Avenue. Zoning has been approved for the design-bid-build project, which will include 1,760 residences. Construction on the project’s first phase is expected to start next year. Howard University plans to construct a $30-million school of communications building. The project was identified as part of the school’s 2011 central campus master plan. Frederick County Public Schools plans to build a high school in Winchester. The design-bid-build project includes a 245,000-sq-ft building for 1,250 students. Pennsylvania

Key Development Group plans to build Hamburg Logistics Park in Shoemakersville. The largest building in the 165-acre distribution center will total 1.4 million sq ft.
