The Naval Air Station in Marietta, which formally became the General Lucius D. Clay National Guard Center in a recent transfer of ownership from the Navy to the Georgia National Guard, will be the site of a new Joint Force Headquarters building.

New South Construction of Atlanta is building the 220,000-sq-ft Joint Force Headquarters Building as part of its $28-million contract for the Armed Forces Reserve Center.

The building will house the Army National Guard, Air National Guard and Georgia State Dept. of Defense. The project team is targeting LEED certification and a 2012 finish.
