ROCKVILLE, MD—In a down economy, Forrester Construction of Rockville, Md., has found opportunities in the K-12 market. In October, the company began preconstruction on the $40 million 250,000-sq-ft modernization of Anacostia Senior High School in Washington, D.C. The architect is Sorg Architects of Washington, D.C. Construction will start in March 2010 and is scheduled to finish in August 2011.

In October, Forrester was awarded the $12 Million E.L. Haynes Public Charter School - High School Expansion. The three phase project will involve renovations to a 50,000 sq-ft existing building; a 19,000-sq-ft addition; and site improvements. The architect is Shinberg.Levinas Architectural Design of Bethesda. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2010 and finish in December 2010.
