Lincoln Builders of Ruston has been selected to partner with Vantage Health Plan (VHP) in the revival of downtown Monroe, La. Vantage recently hosted a groundbreaking for renovations to the Old Virginia Hotel, originally built in 1925 and renovated by Lincoln in 1963. Representatives from McDonnel, Orleans Parish, Orleans Parish School Board, Louisiana Recovery School District and local residents recently gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking on the new Ray Abrams School in New Orleans East. The school will be the home of KIPP: East Community Primary.

�The Reading Room� playhouse designed by SmithGroupJJR�s Tyler Murph won the 2015 Life of an Architect Playhouse Design Competition and is now displayed at Northpark Mall in Dallas. The Life of an Architect Playhouse Design Competition takes entries from across the world. The playhouse designs are judged by their overall design, appeal, constructibility and adherence to the rules. The competition is also for a good cause: The winning playhouses are constructed and donated to the Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a nonprofit group comprising community volunteers trained and supervised to serve as advocates in court for abused and neglected children.

Skanska challenged its more than 10,000 employees across the country to closely examine how they plan for daily tasks during its 11th annual Safety Week (May 3-9). Activities at Houston jobsites ranged from training sessions and safety product demos to award recognitions and crew stand-downs to focus on specific jobsite hazards.
