This $18.3-million Navajo project houses administrative departments on the first floor and the John Pinto Conference Center on the second floor. Sustainable concepts were integrated into most of the building's design, bringing it to within a few points of LEED Platinum. The water used throughout the building is warmed by the earth's heat as it cycles through 144 wells. Recycled materials such as glass and tires were used in the flooring and the walls. A collaborative spirit among the project team helped bring the project in under budget despite the difficulty of working with a multitude of agencies and funding sources.
