Tucson Medical Center Mother-Baby and Pediatrics Expansion

This hospital expansion added 13 private patient rooms and converted 13 more to private from semi-private. Other additions included an easily identifiable hospital entrance and living room-like activity centers for families and teens. The warm colors and materials, such as a pecan tree design in the library, create a warm and inviting atmosphere. A nearby heliport was turned from nuisance to asset by facing the windows so patients could see the exciting arrival and departure of the helicopters, while acoustically treated glass blocks out the noise.
