South Meadows Roadway, Bridge and Utilities

While slightly less than one mile in length, this key roadway finally completes a 20-year-old Santa Fe transportation plan. The project includes new roadway construction, a two-span bridge and water and storm-sewer line construction in a narrow right-of-way, all of which was done with considerable interaction with the local public and county officials.

A delay caused by a snag with the bridge foundation that could have been very costly for the county was averted by re-aligning a key water transmission line away from the bridge. The bridge subcontractor's creative foundation fix could be applied on other projects in a variety of situations.
