The 54,000-sq-ft Mandel Jewish Community Center features a preschool, classrooms, gymnasium, social hall, aquatics center and athletic fields. The reinforced concrete masonry structure features a stucco and veneer stone exterior and includes cantilevered concrete canopy structures, cone-shaped columns and Jerusalem stone. After extreme rainfall slowed the project's start, the contractor reworked the construction plan by dividing the project into four sections. To cope with the heavy rains, crews pumped more than 20 million gallons of water from the site.
