The Moorings is a nonprofit community for people aged 65 and older that accommodates independent-living, assisted-living and skilled-nursing units. For this project, contractors added 29 condo-style independent living units to the campus in three buildings ranging from three to five stories.
Interior finishes and fixtures are unique for each residence. The exteriors also feature a variety of finishes, including cast-in-place concrete, concrete masonry units, stucco and architectural precast stone. LEED-for-Homes certification is being sought for each individual unit.
Amenities added to the campus include a wooden bridge that crosses a central lake, tiered fountains and an elevated rooftop garden.
