KRISTIANSEN
Alexander Kristiansen has joined architectural firm BJAC in Raleigh, N.C., as director of health care. Kristiansen will lead the design and management of health care projects. He has spent much of his career focused on health care facilities and has international project experience.

Peter Tuffo has joined Suffolk Construction to serve as vice president of west coast operations in Fort Myers, Fla., as the company seeks to expand its reach into the state's southwest region. Tuffo has more than 15 years of industry experience and previously served in senior-level management positions with Manhattan Construction Co. and W.G. Mills.

Mohan Gopalakrishna has joined Miller Legg in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as a senior transportation engineer. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Gopalakrishna will oversee Miller Legg's transportation engineering efforts, including the firm's projects for the Florida Dept. of Transportation.

 

COLAS
Ronald Colas has been named to the position of vice president in the Miami office of Parsons Brinckerhoff. In his new position, Colas will serve as PB's Miami area manager, responsible for operations in South Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America. Colas has 25 years of transportation industry experience, and for the past 18 years he has focused on civil engineering and aviation projects.

Felix Perez was promoted to the position of executive vice president for Woodland Construction Co., a tilt-up concrete contractor based in Jupiter, Fla. Perez has been with Woodland since 2009 and has held sales and business development responsibilities for the firm. In this newly created position, he will also have responsibilities for daily operations. Before joining Woodland, Perez worked as a laborer, foreman, superintendent and project manager.

 

CONA
Steve Cona III was named president and CEO of the Florida Gulf Coast chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Tampa. Cona joined the association in 2007, and has previously served as the chapter's chief operating officer and marketing and communications director. He succeeds Steve Cona Jr., who will become the chapter's senior vice president after 27 years with ABC.

David Ashley has been hired as vice president and regional branch manager for WK Dickson & Co., Atlanta. In this position, Ashley will assume responsibility for the operation of the firm's Atlanta area office, with a focus on expanding the company's water resources practice in the state of Georgia. Ashley has more than 39 years of experience in environmental planning and previously served as manager of the water resources program for the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.

Alex Hunt-Branch has been hired as project manager for the Tampa office of Stevens Construction, which is expanding its operations in the area. Hunt-Branch, who has completed more than $60 million worth of health care projects in Florida, will have overall responsibility for the management and execution of Tampa-area health care contracts.

In addition, Al Stonys has joined the Tampa office of Stevens Construction as a superintendent. He has more than 10 years of experience working on health care projects.

Duane Oskey has also joined Stevens Construction's Tampa office as a superintendent. Oskey has experience working on several Tampa-area hospital campuses.

Bob Moss, chief executive officer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based construction manager Moss & Associates, was recently recognized by the Davie Emergency Assistance Service Effort (EASE) Foundation in Davie, Fla., as the group's Humanitarian of the Year. EASE assists needy residents in the South Florida area.

Jeffrey Tutman has joined the Atlanta office of Kajima Building & Design Group (KBD Group) as an industrial engineering manager. Tutman, with more than 25 years of industry experience, will be responsible for the lead development of process drawings and specifications for constructability and cost.

Shervin Ahmady also has joined the Atlanta office of KBD Group, where he will work as a senior electrical engineer. Ahmady has more than 20 years of industry experience designing electrical systems for industrial and commercial projects.

Steven G. Richards was recently elected to serve as 2013 president of the Lee Building Industry Association of Lee County, Fla. Richards is a vice president and director with Owen-Ames-Kimball Co., Fort Myers.

Steven DeWitt was named alternate delivery technical manager in the Raleigh, N.C., office of Parsons Brinckerhoff. DeWitt comes to PB after 28 years with the North Carolina Dept. of Transportation, where he worked as state construction engineer, director of construction and chief engineer of the North Carolina Turnpike Authority.

Matt Relick has rejoined Choate Construction Co., Atlanta, as senior preconstruction manager. He previously worked for Choate as a project engineer and senior project manager. He most recently worked for Juneau Construction Co., Atlanta.

Daniel Laggan was recently promoted to the position of partner at SchenkelShultz Architecture in Orlando. Prior to this appointment, Laggan served as a principal.

Also in Orlando, Johnnie D. Lohrum Jr. was promoted to the position of associate principal for SchenkelShultz. Lohrum has been with the firm for eight years.

Andrea Rivero, a member of the aviation design team, was promoted to associate in the Orlando office of SchenkelShultz. Rivero has been with the firm for six years.

In addition, Gary Porter was named associate in SchenkelShultz's Orlando office. He has been with the firm for 18 years.

Stacey Chapman has been named director of business development for Athens, Ga.-based construction manager CPPI of Georgia. She was formerly business development manager for Heery International, Atlanta.
