A new soccer and lacrosse stadium at the University of Utah elevates the NCAA teams’ ability to compete at an elite level. In addition, the lacrosse practice field is shared by students and athletic programs and adds much needed green space to the campus.

The high-performance, sand-based natural grass field allows for play on a safe surface, even during heavy rain. Upscale field lighting allows for night games and televised contests. Bleacher seating for 900 fans, plus additional lawn seating, is located on the east side of the field and connects to a plaza with concessions and restrooms.

The project began in fall 2018 with demolition and site grading. While the original plan was to stop work only during the winter, a long, wet spring kept the project on hold until mid-April. Crews lost eight weeks due to muddy conditions, but the team realigned some tasks and trades and finished the project on schedule.
