Hiroto Sato is CEO of Oprizon, Ltd., which is a Japanese joint venture that was established by Obayashi and Hitachi Solutions this year. Oprizon is a Smart Building & Construction Tech service provider aiming to introduce to Japan U.S. startup’s services and develop the Japanese market with them. Prior to shifting to his new role at Oprizon, he had been a leader of Obayashi SVVL (Silicon Valley Ventures & Laboratory) which was established in 2017 to incorporate innovative technologies into the construction industry. SVVL promotes ideation, incubation, and scaling of innovative services with startup companies through equity investments, R&D, and market expansion support. He has worked for Obayashi for 30 years and had been a manager of its North American Regional H.Q. He implemented a restructuring of the U.S. business operation and executed M&A on a construction company. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Information (Urban Design) in Japan and an MBA in the U.S.
