The Pearl Development project incorporated several unusual construction techniques, the most visible of which was the swing of the project's tower crane. The crane was 225 ft high, 50 ft taller than the brewery's smokestack, ensuring that it had complete clearance of the stack.

To help make construction on the riverbank easier, a concrete admixture, Xypex, was incorporated because of its water resistant qualities.

A waterproof envelope was also utilized on the perimeter of the below grade foundation to provide additional waterproofing to the basement floor.

"We implemented Prolog project management software about halfway through the project," Adam says. "We also finished on time and within budget."
