Clayco broke ground on Ray Phoenix, a 26-story, 523,000-sq-ft residential tower in Phoenix, on May 31. Slated for completion in early 2026, the project is being developed as a joint venture between Ray and VeLa.

Buildings that meet the newer ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2022 would see an average of 9.8% in site energy savings compared to those that only meet the 2019 standard, an agency analysis estimates.

The funding is part of DOE's efforts to reduce buildings-sector energy use and costs, as well as greenhouse gas emissions.

Regulation 28 applies to about 8,000 buildings, but some already meet the energy use requirements.
