Michael Taylor currently serves as Head of Ports for Equinor’s US Renewables portfolio, where he is responsible for acquiring and developing the port facilities required to support Equinor’s offshore wind activities in the U.S. Since joining Equinor’s Renewables organization in 2021, Mike has spearheaded company engagement at numerous ports, most notably its South Brooklyn Marine Terminal offshore wind staging and operations hub in New York City currently in development and also led the port-related components of offtake agreements with NYSERDA for its Empire Wind and Beacon Wind projects.
Mike began his career in the oil & gas industry over 20 years ago as a negotiator of large engineering, procurement and construction contracts. He then pivoted into project management and execution, with roles in project management, engineering, project controls & construction management. Over the course of his career, Mike has worked on major projects in eleven countries and six continents. In 2019, he joined Equinor’s oil & gas division with the goal of eventually transitioning to offshore wind for Equinor as a Project Developer. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
