Jim Short is the Acting Senior Vice President of Amtrak’s Capital Delivery Department, a department of nearly 800 employees delivering more than $4B in capital project work in FY25.

Jim is a proven and seasoned leader in the Engineering / Construction business with more than 45 years of experience in project management, commercial management and project controls.

His experience ranges from executive leadership roles in industry leading firms to project assignments in the US and abroad. Industries include high speed rail, mass transit, power, mining & metals and US Government projects such as chemical demilitarization and the nuclear weapons complex.
