Groundbreaking Women in Construction Conference

Lisa De Lor Lisa De Lor
Vice President of Human Resources
Clune Construction

Lisa De Lor joined Clune Construction as Director of Human Resources in April 2019. Less than a year later she stepped up and became one of their key leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Acting quickly, Lisa worked with Senior Management to provide the latest updates to employees across the U.S. She oversaw company-wide compliance regarding travel, quarantine, and state legislative requirements, and developed a company handbook with multi-state compliance. This included California Paid COVID leave, San Francisco Public Health Emergency Leave Ordinance, Los Angeles Paid COVID Leave, and New York Paid Leave for COVID-19.

This in itself would have been a full-time job for many. However, Lisa managed this while continuing to innovate Clune’s Human Resources department. She streamlined the company’s applicant and onboarding process by implementing an upgrade to Clune’s HR systems including a management request portal for employee status changes, a new Applicant Tracking System and Learning Management Software. She transitioned the company to an online performance review system and continues to oversee Clune’s robust benefits package.

Lisa co-created and co-manages Clune’s Mentoring Program, which taps into the existing knowledge and experience of seasoned employees and shares these skills with newer employees.

In 2021, Lisa helped spearhead Clune’s new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, to create a workplace in which all can participate, prosper and reach their full potential. Lisa’s leadership through a challenging year was not unnoticed by Clune Senior Management. She was recently promoted to Vice President, after only two years with the company.
