Lunch Table Host: Intentionally Developing Women Leaders

Leslie graduated from Texas A&M’s Construction Science program. As a Zachry Construction Corp. employee for over 15 years, she has worked on highway construction projects in Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Most notably, she has contributed to these high-profile projects: the San Antonio River Authority’s Museum Reach, the San Antonio River Authority’s Mission Reach Phase III, SH99 Grand Parkway Segment F & G on both the Design Build and Capital Maintenance Agreement and, currently, the Houston Ship Channel Bridge.

Leslie started her journey of intentionally developing female leadership by joining the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Houston’s chapter. Here she learned what female leadership looked like and how to help foster it. She was elected to the NAWIC Houston Board of Directors for 2020-2021 and as the NAWIC Houston Vice President for 2021-2022. She continues to serve on multiple committees. Additionally, in 2022, Leslie took on the role of Co-Director of Zachry Women Breaking Ground (ZWBG), the corporation’s first employee resource group serving over 50 active members. Leslie is using her experience to help guide and develop the female leaders within Zachry by providing access to and creating ZWBG conferences, workshops, training opportunities and one-on-one guidance.
