Leslie King O'Neal serves as associate general counsel for Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC, an Engineering News-Record (ENR) Top 100 commercial general contractor based in Birmingham, Ala. Prior to joining Brasfield & Gorrie in 2007, Leslie was a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, PA in Orlando in the construction practice group. A graduate of the University of Florida and of the University of Florida College of Law, she has practiced in the area of construction law for 42 years. She has been active in many professional organizations, including the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry, where she served on the Governing Committee and as chair. She is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, where she served on the board; she is also a Fellow of the ABA Foundation. Leslie is board certified in the area of construction law by the Florida Bar. She has spoken to and written articles for many industry and construction law organizations, including the American Institute of Constructors, the ABA Litigation Section, the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry, and the ABA Fidelity & Surety Law Committee. She was a co-author of "Construction Damages and Remedies" (ABA Press 2003),"Construction Damages and Remedies, 2d ed". (ABA Press 2013), and a contributing author to "Managing and Litigating the Complex Surety Case, 2d ed". (ABA Press 2007) and "The Construction Law Handbook" (Wolters Kluwer 2020). In 2019 she received the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from the Construction Law Committee of the Florida Bar's Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.
