Jenn Thomas is a senior VDC manager at VIATechnik. She has a passion for utilizing VDC technology to integrate design, construction, and operations of built environments.
Due to her extensive experience and her passion for soft skills, Jenn is proficient at training people new to Revit. Once she is familiar with a client’s goals, she can formulate custom solutions to help streamline processes and show the client how to properly use their new set of tools. This includes setting up BIM standards that best reflect the client’s current preferences. Jenn can direct clients to the latest and most useful plug-ins. She is proficient at making Revit do much of the heavy lifting for your team, by creating shared parameters for families that are effortless to schedule, track, and edit as needed. Jenn is also experienced at setting up BIM 360 workflows to allow any team member with an internet connection and a Revit license easy access to the content they need to succeed.
Prior to joining VIATechnik, Jenn worked for a BIM consulting firm in the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland. Jenn has worked on several high-profile projects, including the CPMC Cathedral Hill Hospital, a new zoo in Qatar, a micro-processor manufacturing facility, pharmaceutical labs, high-rises, and corporate offices. She has successfully helped designers, subcontractors, GCs, and owners make the transition to virtual design and construction. She holds a BA in architecture from UC Berkeley and has been an Autodesk Revit Certified Professional since 2014.
