Building a Zero Tolerance Community Against Racism, Hate, Bias and Harassment

Alondra De Leon is a project manager with Gilbane Building Company’s Connecticut business unit with a focus in healthcare and K-12 markets. With over 14 years of industry experience, notable projects throughout Alondra’s career include the Danbury Hospital Buck Pavilion, Hartford Hospital Bone and Joint Institute, and the West Haven High School additions and renovations.

An ambitious and motivated diversity, equity and inclusion thought leader, Alondra champions the development of inclusionary practices and programming at Gilbane through her contributions to the company’s multi-year inclusion and diversity strategy. She serves on the company-wide Inclusion and Diversity Council, representing the HOL@ Gilbane Hispanic/Latinx Employee Resource Group that she also co-chairs. Through her involvement in the ACE Mentor Program of Connecticut, she helps high school students from inner cities discover opportunities and career pathways in the AEC industry.

Alondra’s passion and leadership in the industry is driven from having seen first-hand how important representation and inclusion is, not just for employee growth, but for the growth of organizations. She holds a degree from Rogers Williams University, has published multiple articles on DEI, and is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Gilbane ACE Mentor of the Year and Professional Women in Construction Mentor of the Year Award.
