Zachary Mannheimer comes to construction through community activism and local economic development initiatives, including addressing the acute need for quality, affordable housing in underserved communities. He founded Alquist 3D to print homes, starting in partnership with Habitat for Humanity in December 2021 with the first 3D-printed, owner-occupied home in the U.S. Mannheimer followed that by starting an ongoing collaboration with Walmart to explore the printing of larger, commercial structures, beginning with a free-standing, 8,000 sq. ft., Walmart Supercenter expansion in Athens, Tenn. in 2024.
