Partnering With Startups: What to Look For
Working with tech startups can advance the industry, but before you do there are questions you need to answer, because even if a startup’s creation will solve problems, that doesn’t necessarily spell success. You need to decide:
- Whether to be an early adopter
- If investmenting to influence development and incentivize performance is warranted
- If you can commit to dedicating the resources and making the organizational changes necessary to scale implementation
- Who will be the project leaders
- What’s the escape plan if your partnership is a mistake
- And what are the metrics of success? Does a win have to be an improvement in core revenue? Or can it be something else?
