What Moved Now: NEVI Funds Back in Play by State

Map of designated electric vehicle alternative fuel corridors across the United States.

Designated electric vehicle alternative fuel corridors form the backbone of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program, where a federal court ruling has reopened access to NEVI funds and cleared the way for stalled charging projects to move forward.

The chart below shows unobligated National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) formula funds that are now legally available for obligation after a federal court barred the U.S. Department of Transportation from suspending previously approved state deployment plans.

Dollar amounts reflect Federal Highway Administration data on NEVI formula funding status as of Feb. 6, 2025. Unobligated balances indicate funds that had not yet been committed to projects at the time of the federal pause. Delivery status reflects statewide procurement posture.
