Deborah J. Hodges is President and Managing Principal of Golden Square, a creative branding, communications and marketing agency. Prior to launching Golden Square nine years ago, Deborah has served as the marketing director for five major firms (ENR-rated), executive director of the Construction Writers Association; vice president in client relations, and other senior leadership positions in professional services firms in the A/E/C industry. Her experience includes the big three-architecture, engineering and construction management firms -- Big A, small A, Big E and small E, and Big C. She is a past president of SMPS Chicago, serving a back-back double presidency. She is known for her ability to build high-level relationships with clients and long-term relationships.
Deborah has also been elected to several boards as president and in other senior board roles due to her capacity to build a united successful team. She has received awards from organizations for success in reaching and exceeding their goals. Deborah also conducted and launched the original SMPS Mentoring Study and Mentoring Program. She served on the national mentoring committee for three years to firmly develop the importance of building value of marketing professionalism.Deborah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication from North Central College and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Communications with a focus in Marketing from DePaul University.
