Emerging contaminants (ECs) have become an increasing area of interest in the environmental industry for at least the past 10 years due to rising concern about their potential impacts on human health and the environment, and they are being identified in soil, groundwater, drinking water, and other media throughout the United States and other countries. Yet, the risks they pose are not fully understood. This webinar will define an emerging contaminant as there are several understandings. A summary of three leading ECs will be discussed, what they are and where they came from. In addition, this webinar will summarize EPA and State regulatory thresholds, their variance and comparison to other well-studied chemicals.
