The Design-Build Institute of America Southwest (DBIA-SW) is hosting its 12th Annual Conference on May 5-6, 2016, at the Little Rock Marriott in Little Rock, Arkansas. This year’s conference, titled “Discover Design-Build Done Right,” is the first conference in DBIA-SW’s history to be held in Arkansas.
All DBIA-SW members, affiliated industry professionals, public and private project owners, interested students, and professionals wanting to learn more about Design-Build are invited to join their friends and colleagues for this unique opportunity to network, tour one of the nation’s most complex Design-Build projects, and hear the latest news, industry forecasts, best practices and trends from top Design-Build industry experts. Conference attendees will also earn up to nine (9) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) of DBIA Designation credit and/or nine (9) Learning Hours (LUs) of American Institute of Architects (AIA) credit.
Craig Unger, principal at Knoxville, Maryland-based Unger Security Solutions, LLC, will serve as the conference’s keynote speaker. Unger will present a program titled, "What Makes Doing Design-Build 'Done Right' So Difficult?" and facilitate an open discussion about the process of defining the project, managing the selection process and executing the work.
Other key highlights of this year’s conference include a program on the I‐30 / Arkansas River Crossing project, a presentation from the winners of the 2015 National DBIA Design-Build Student Competition, updates on design-build legislation, and a special guided tour of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum.
